III Illllllllllll III
- 999
~_
°~~ / Doc Date:12N 112001
SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that the CDMG will be provided with map(s) illus-
trating the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate
locations for stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year. Those maps (5-1 and 5-2)
are included in this section.
These maps were initially revised in 1990 and have been submitted annually in Appendix W updating
the report and map series, as per TR-48. Each update includes the locations of existing stockpiles.
Since 1990, Trapper has provided the approximate topsoil volumes (cyds) for existing stockpiles.
Table 4.9.2-1 lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, a coordinate (based on
the approximate center of the pile), the basal area (acres), an approximate initial construction date and
the current approximate volume; and is updated annually.
At the end of 1994 there were 88 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 189 acres and storing
approximately 3,981,875 cubic yarcls of salvaged materials.
During 1994, Trapper constructed seven new stockpiles and added topsail to seven existing piles.
Additionally, portions of six existing piles were removed and nine piles were eliminated via topsoil
replacement. ,
The proposed approximate locations (as shown on Topsoil Stockpile Maps 1 and 2) for topsoil stock-
piling in 1995 may exceed the actual number that will be constructed. Proposed topsail stockpiles and
the number of piles constructed are dependent upon the field conditions that are encountered each
• reclamation season. Additionally, particular piles may be depleted from or atlded to in order to main-
tain acost effective salvage or replacement program during a particular year.
Enclosed are revised permit tables 4.9-3 and 4.9-4 which tlescribe Trapper's overall topsoil stockpile
inventory through the 1997 permit tens.
[DMG~B4REPISr
•
