,~,,,., nrrL1CATI0N FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES --
HINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS.
2.05.6 riitigation of Surface Coal Mining Operation Impacts. (Cont'd.)
(3) (b) (i) (Cont'd.)
- feet wide and 350 fee[ in length. Tne drain
consisted of a prefabricated drain core ("Mir-
adrain 4000") and perforated 4" PVC pipe laid
in a trench and backfilled with imported gran-
ular material. Tne [op of the trench was
backfilled wish approximately one foot of nat-
ural soil. Flows from the french drain were
directed to East Roatcap Creek through a fl-
inch corrugated plastic pipe laid on Che
ground surface. After cessation of operations
and final reclamation of the OVWM, the rock
toe buttress and french drain would remain in
place, but the corrugated drain pipe would be
removed and replaced by a riprapped channel or
half culvert.
Train Loadout Drainage Control Plan.
The [rain loadout drainage plan consists of
retaining run-off water from [he sixteen-acre
disturbed area in a 1.8 acre-foot sedimenta-
tion pond. For specific details on [his
structure (design criteria, etc.) see Section
2.05.3(3)(b) and Map 8A-2 in Volume BA.
• Run-off is directed to the sedimentation pond
from the [rain loadout area by means of a con-
. strutted downgrade, The shop area naturally
flows by gravity to the sedimentation pond.
The western end of the train loadout area near
the truck dump station drains over the fill
slope to the drainage along the railroad
tracks. Run-off from the railroad track
drains downgrade to the sedimentation pond.
The rur.-off is contained within a berm on the
south side of the spur at the train loadout
building. Map 8-3 shows drainage plans in
this area.
Coal Stockpile Drair.a¢e Control Plan
A sedimentation pond with .35 acre-ft. of
storage volume receives run-off from the coal
stockpile area. Tne "V" ditches constructed
around the perimeter and [he constructed grade
of the area carries run-off to the sedimenta-
tion pond, See Section 2.05.3(3)(6) and Draw-
ings LO1R0004 and LO1R0005 in the Ponds, Im-
poundments, and Dams Appendix, Volume 8A, for
further information on the pond and drainage
designs.
Revised 08/01/84
Added O1 /06 /S7
Revised 10/O1r87
Revised 03/28;88
