Revised 12/21/82
Special care will be taken to assure that all vehicular travel
on newly-reclaimed areas is discontinued. Roads will be constructed
to assure that normal mining operations continue without disruption
To reclamation efforts.
Noxious Weed Control
Prohibited noxious weeds found growing on newly reclaimed areas
will be controlled according to recorrmendaTions made by the
appropriate Cooperative Extension agent. If it is found that
pesticides are required to control the spread of prohibited weeds or
other undesirable weeds competing with the seeded species, a
complete weed control plan will be submitted to the M.L.R. for
approval prior to the use of any such control. This plan will
include a discussion of the material to be used, the time, rate, and
method of application, and precautions to be taken to avoid
• contamination, toxicity and potential side effects of the proposed
material.
Evaluation of Reclamation Success
A reference area approach will be used to evaluate revegetation
success. Reference areas for the two vegetation types present on
the site were established prior to commencement of mining. Cover,
production, shrub density, and species diversity values will be
collected from the reclaimed area and reference areas and compared
using accepted statistical methods.
~"~ F- I 0
