<br />Page 7 of 13 <br />FORESEEABLE CHANGES TO THE RECLAMATION/REVEGETATION PRACTICES <br />TO 860©' ELEVATION <br />AND <br />OVER 8600' ELEVATIONd <br />1•Iany natural conditions exist or occur which necessitate a change in any plan, and <br />these plans are no exception. Any changes will be approved by the Authorized Officer <br />(AO) or the Authorized Officer's Representative (AOR) prior to commencement of <br />reclamaticn. <br />To elimint.te some of the current confusion over terminology, the following paragraph is <br />offered a:. clarification and will be the rule in San Luis Resource Area. <br />"Reclamat:on" or "reclaim" are terms used interchangeably for specific practices such <br />as recontouring, topsoilinq, seeding, reseeding, mulching, revegetation, seedbed <br />preparati~~n, planting, contouring, ditching, and/or diking, fertilizing, reshaping, <br />ripping, =ontrolling erasion, disY.ing, harrowing, hydromulching, etc. All such terms <br />are practices or methods used in achieving a reclaimed state on the disturbed site. In <br />all cases when an order or stipulation refers to reclamation of a site, it means any <br />and all practices and methods needed to achieve an acceptable state of the site being <br />reclaimed. This state of being reclaimed is determined by the Authorized Officer or <br />his representative. <br />Foreseeable changes are discussed by each respective heading of the <br />"Reclamation/Revegetation practices" as follows: <br />I:. Seed Hix; To 8600' Elevation: <br />Some species may not be available in any one year and may or may not be <br />replaced. Notify the AO or AOR for an approved action. <br />Substitutions may be ordered by the AO or AOR for reasons important to the <br />Government. <br />Any one of the following species may supplement or fully replace one cf the <br />respectively numbered species if approved by the AO or AOR. <br />A. Large/Chaffy Seed: <br />1. On Rangelands: <br />a. Needleandthread Stipa comata 3,6,7,9 <br />b. Green needlegrass Stipa viridula 3,6,7,9 <br />c. Smooth brome Bromus inermis var. 1•Ianchar 5 <br />-27- <br />
