V, Fertilizer:
• Paqe 6 of 13
A. :spread 200# fertilizer per acre.
B. Use a Un1PE1 or Prell (not a batch mix) i.e. 16N-16P-16K-20S. This will, at
200#, provide a total of 32N-32P-32K-40S, pounds per acre. The sulfur may be
:less, but must be present, keep 11PK equal and in a single prell which will
~rovtde thirty i30) to forty {4p) total units of IdPK.
C. Jse a truck spreader or pull cart, provided by the fertilizer plant.
D. the spreader setting will be set a 21G# pec acre to accommodate the 20G#
fertilizer and the mixed in 10# polyacrylamide, adjust accordingly if more
polyacrylamide is used.
E. Spread fertilizer just before ripping or final seedbed preparation tillage.
The fertilizer must be incorporated to a 4" to 6" depth.
VI. Overall Reclamation Sequence:
A. Reshape the area, 5:1 slopes, ditches, dikes, berms, gabbins, or
whatever for water control and erosion abatement.
B. Rip whole disturbed area and some surrounding area, fracturing to a depth of
18", to give size and shape for a seedable area, blending it in with the
adjacent site without straight square sides. Eliminate hardpans and plowpans.
C. Spread fertilizer with 10# polyacrylamide. This can be done on less rocY.y
areas that are not clayey before ripping, to accomplish incorporation, if
disking or harrowing is not necessary for a good seed bed.
D. Disk or harrow after ripping to eliminate large clods. If ripping makes the
area extremely rough and cloddy then disking or harrowing will create a proper
seed bed and incorporate fertilizer.
E. Drill seed mix with 5# polyacrylamide in small seed.
F. Modify if extremely steep, i.e. hydromulch, matting, etc. Other programs will
have to be approved by the Authorized Officer (AO) or the Authorized Officer's
Representative (AOR).
G.
