EXHIBIT D - RECLAMATION PLAN
1. Due to the limited depth of the topsoil material originally
removed and stockpiled, it is expected that the topsoil material
will total 5000 cubic yards in storage. That amount will yield
about 4 inches of topsoil material evenly distributed across the
site.
2. Side slopes will be graded 3:1 in the course of mining.
3. (a) Topsoil will be replaced at least 4 to 6 inches thick.
(b) Upon final grading of the side slopes and mine floor, the
entire area will be chiseled to a depth of 6 to 8 inches before
topsoil material is evenly redistributed and compacted to provide
a firm seedbed. Fertilizers will be added as required by a soil
analysis completed just prior to seeding. Seeding will be done in
the late fall or very early spring in order to take advantage of
the spring rains and to get a headstart on competition from annual
weeds.
(c) Seed mixture and rates of seeding that will be followed for
reclamation of the site will be as outlined in SCS letter.
(d) Seeding will be done with a grass drill.
(e) Mulching will be done only if it becomes necessary, however,
we do not anticipate the need for mulching.
(f) N/A
4. No ponds, road, or buildings will remain on the site following
reclamation.
