A. I recommend that the stockpiles be sown to 7 pounds western
wheat grass.
The operator agrees to this recommendation.
B. l~That grade will the end slopes be? A 3:1 slope is recommended.
As explained in 2 E. above, the operator proposes that the north,
northwest and southwest pit banks be backsloped at 3: 1. The south-
east face is proposed at 2:1 to match the contour above it.
C. Nine inches of topsoil should be replaced over the affected area.

D. I recommend the following seed mixture:
Streambank wheatgrass - 31bs. PLS
~ Western wheatgrass - 31bs..PLS
j Russian wildrye - 31bs. PLS
Indian ricegrass - 31bs. PLS
Blue grama - llb. PLS
Side oats grama - 31bss PLS
Yellow sweet clover - llb. PLS
Double amount if broadcast seeded.

Current (These should be planted 5 plants in a bunch 20
feet apart).

F. I recommend you do not revegetate in July.
Past experience indicates best results for Fall grass seeding.
Shrubs will be planted either in the Spring or early Fall.
G. Do not use a hand rake to cover seeds. I recommend that a rake
pulled by a tractor or the seed drilled be used.
