The diversion berm above the pit <br />has been indicated , <br />4. Water Information <br />A. How will this operation have only a minor effect on the surface <br />water system? <br />The only effect on the surface water system is the diversion of <br />occasional runoff around the pit area. This is a very minor effect. <br />B. Enclosed you will find a memo from Water Resources. How do you plan <br />to address this? <br />The first paragraph of the Water Resources deals with; the water . <br />i rights and the water requirements of the operation. <br />1. Attached is a copy of the well permit for the industrial well and <br />the court decree for the spring and pipeline. <br />2. These water sources have been adequate to meet the water requirements <br />of the operation since 1950 <br />Paragraph 2 deals with what is called a "low impoundment dike" and the <br />storage of direct flow water, <br />1. As explained earlier the "low impoundment dike" is actually a <br />diversion berm to divert the occasional surface runoff around the ~ <br />pit area, <br />2. There is no storage basin above the diversion berm and consequently <br />no storage of direct flow water or effects on senior water rights. <br />5. Wildlife <br />1 <br />A. If this is to be a wildlife habitat the Colorado Division of Wild- , <br />life should be contacted for their suggestions. r <br />If the end use is wildlife, the Division of Wildlife will be contacted. <br />However, developments in the area indicate that the highest and best <br />use upon completion of extraction could be residential or industrial. <br />a <br />
