The diversion berm above the pit
has been indicated ,
4. Water Information
A. How will this operation have only a minor effect on the surface
water system?
The only effect on the surface water system is the diversion of
occasional runoff around the pit area. This is a very minor effect.
B. Enclosed you will find a memo from Water Resources. How do you plan
to address this?
The first paragraph of the Water Resources deals with; the water .
i rights and the water requirements of the operation.
1. Attached is a copy of the well permit for the industrial well and
the court decree for the spring and pipeline.
2. These water sources have been adequate to meet the water requirements
of the operation since 1950
Paragraph 2 deals with what is called a "low impoundment dike" and the
storage of direct flow water,
1. As explained earlier the "low impoundment dike" is actually a
diversion berm to divert the occasional surface runoff around the ~
pit area,
2. There is no storage basin above the diversion berm and consequently
no storage of direct flow water or effects on senior water rights.
5. Wildlife
1
A. If this is to be a wildlife habitat the Colorado Division of Wild- ,
life should be contacted for their suggestions. r
If the end use is wildlife, the Division of Wildlife will be contacted.
However, developments in the area indicate that the highest and best
use upon completion of extraction could be residential or industrial.
a
