Box 1030 <br />Colorado Springs, Colorado 80901-1030 <br />Continental Materials Corporation <br />325 North Wells Street <br />Chicago, Illinois 60610 <br />RE: Use Subject to Special Review -Mineral and Natural Resource Extraction (AL-93-021) <br />This is to inform you that the above-referenced request by Transit Mix Concrete/Continental <br />Materials Corporation for Use Subject to Special Review approval for the Daniels Sand Pit #2 <br />mining operation was heard and approved by the Board of County Commissioners on January <br />27, 1994. The current operation is legally nonconforming; however, modifications in the <br />permit boundary necessitate bringing the operation into a conforming status. The site <br />consists of 375.5 acres, located on both sides of Academy Boulevard, between Drennan and <br />Bradley Roads. The property (Tax Schedule #65031-00-008, 65020-00-002, 004, 085, 092) is <br />zoned A-1 (Agricultural) and PHID (Planned Heavy Industrial) Districts. <br />The following conditions and notations were placed upon this approval: <br />CONDITIONS <br />1. This operation shall be conducted in accordance with the document <br />entitled "Application for Special Use Permit, Daniels Sand Pit #2" dated <br />October 1993, except as modified by these conditions. All applicable <br />statements and commitments included in this document shall be binding <br />upon this operation. <br />2. Ali commercial vehicles transporting sand off site shall be covered to <br />prevent any material from blowing and falling from the vehicle. The out- <br />side rails of trucks shall be swept prior to exiting the site. Notice of these <br />regulations shall be prominently displayed. <br />3.
