1
' temporarily in Stage 4. Where clay stockpiles are located in
Stage 4, topsoil will be removed and stored at another Stage 4
location.
' The majority of Stage 2 is devoid of topsoil because of
' prelaw mining or because of the disturbance caused by the
sportscycle park. All recoverable topsoil will be stockpiled
' in Stage 6. A large amount of waste sand is expected to be
enncountered during the mining of the clays. The majority of
' waste sand will be stockpiled on the east side of Stage 2 for use
as backfill in later reclamation phases. All recoverable topsoil
1 from the east side of Stage 2 will also be stockpiled on the east
' side of Stage 2, though segregated from the waste sand.
As mining progresses, Stages 3 and 4 will be disturbed while
' Stages 2 and 6 remain active. While Stage 3 is being mined, only
enough topsoil needed to reclaim the stage will be stockpiled
' along the western side. Since the topsoil in Stage 3 is expected
' to be thick, the large amount remaining will be stockpiled in
Stage 7 where mining will never occur. Normally, the mined clay
' will be stockpiled adjacent to the area being mined, but some
clays or sand may be stockpiled in Stage 4.
' In the next progression, mining will affect Stages 4 and 5
' while Stage 7 continues to be used for soil stockpiling. Mining
in Stage 2 is expected to be minimal during the period when
' Stages 4 and 5 are being mined. Topsoil from newly-disturbed
mined areas will be used to reclaim previously mined areas or
' will be stockpiled in Stage 7. The clay mined from other areas
' and stockpiled in Stage 4 will be removed by the time mining
II ~~
