channels, as described in Section E.3.5.
Exhibit E, Section E.3.6 revised 4/20/89.
Section E.4 Previous Mining Disturbance Reclamation
Section f.4.2 Old Heap Leach
78. Please provide the Division with the species and percent vegetative
ground cover comprised by species currently inhabiting the old heap
site. The Division's 1986 inspection indicated that the old heap is
dominated by the undesirable invader species of big rabbitbrush. The
SCS may assist you with the vegetation analysis. Additionally, the old
heap should not be considered released from further reclamation
requirements until a financial warranty release inspection and final
release determination is made.
Response: If BMR decides that the old heap does not have recoverable gold
values, a vegetative survey will be completed. We see no need in
doing such a survey if the area is to be redisturbed. Big
rabbitbrush is a colonizer which is eventually replaced by
1 natural succession. Such natural succession is already well on
its way at the old heap and BMR does not want to disturb the
natural process if it is not warranted. BMR realizes that the old
' heap can not be considered released until a financial warranty
release inspection and final determination is made and has
included this area in the proposed permit boundary.
No application change necessary.
Section f.4.3 Test Heap and Office Area
t 79. Test results for the Barren pond solutions, as presented in Appendix
J are illegible. Please provide a clear copy for review.
Response: A clear copy is provided in Appendix J.
Appendix J revised 2/15/89.
80. Please specify how the test heap was analyzed to determine cyanide
content. Please provide sample preparation details.
Response: No additional information on cyanide content is believed to be
necessary since the test heap material and solutions will be
' transported to the new facilities upon completion.
No application change necessary.
81. Pease specify the volumes of pond solution and heap materials
requiring remova).
Response: The heap material is estimated at approximately 5,000 tons and
pond solutions are estimated at less than 5,000 gallons.
Exhibit E, Section E.4.3 revised 4/20/89.
LJ
