E;3:hIP.IT E
ieclamation Plan:

A. Final grading will be done in such a manner as
to create a surface contour which will match the
natural appearance of the surrounding area.
B. The top soil has not been stockpiled, but the
overburden will provide enough soil that will
sustain vegetation that a seed bed can be prepared.
~. No definite time for reclamation has been established
as the county plans to use this pit indefinitely. It
is the only pit in a large area of gravel surfaced roads
and will become increasingly valuable in maintenance.
D. crater rights are not a factor in the operation of
this pit.
E. Drainage involves nothing but normal rainfall which
in this area is not a problem. The pit is mined to
the shale and drains normally into nearby Rush Creek
F. There will be little or no effect on wildlife either
before or after reclamation.
G. when the time comes for revegetation of this area the
owner of the land will be consulted as to the sloping
of the side of the pit. Some ranchers would rather
leave a steep bank which can serve as a windbreak for
cattle. Otherwise the flatter areas can be reseeded
with the following mixture:
~ lb. Sand Love Grass )
3 lbs. Blue Bramma " ~ )
2 lbs. Blue Stem ) per acre
1 lb. Switch Grass )
1 lb. Sweet 1, lover )
At the time of seeding or just before the ground
will be treated with 50 lbs. of Plitrogen per acre.
