Of this, 35% to 45% <br />falls as snow, and 40% to 45% falls between May 1st and <br />September 30th. Summer moisture is mostly from <br />thundershowers in late July, August, and September. A dry <br />period from May to early July is typical; and June is <br />normally the driest month. Wide yearly and monthly <br />deviations are common. <br />Active growth of the major native plant species usually <br />starts in April and extends trough most of June. However <br />for some ,plants active growth ends in late May. Many plants <br />can again take advantage of late summer rains if in good <br />vigor. <br />Mean annual temperatur <br />Frost - free period is <br />temperature is usually <br />F, although higher and <br />recorded.
