8.2 Construction Testing Schedule
During construction, the following schedule will be used for
conducting Construction Control Tests on each of the materials
placed during a work shift.
Number of Tests Quantity of 1aterial Placed
1 test minimum Less than 2,000 cu yds
2 tests minimum 2,000 to 4,000 cu yds
1 test/2,000 cu yd Greater than 4,000 cu yds
Tests may be conducted more frequently at the direction of the
Engineer or the Engineer's representative. Such testing will be
done when indicated as necessary by the following guidelines:
1
1) Areas where special compaction equipment or methods are
used,
2) Areas where the height of fill rises quickly versus the
quantity of fill placed.
3) Areas where compaction control is particularly important

1 such as around appurtenant structures.
4) Areas where the required compaction may not have been
'
5) achieved based upon visual observations.
bl
i
l
A
h
t
h
l
d
b
reas w
ere unaccep
e mater
a
a
may
ave
een p
ace
.
6) Spot checks as required by the representative of a
regulatory agency.
8.3 Quality Assurance Tests
Tests to be run for quality assurance are listed in the
following sections. Tests not listed may be run at the direction of
the Engineer. The Engineer or his representative will designate the
materials to be tested and the tests to be done.

N-30
