The pH values ere similar to those measured at the other stream monitoring sites, ranging •
from slightly alkaline to moderately alkaline conditions. Excepting total recoverable Al,
Be, Fe, Mn, and 2n, a majority of the rest of the ten other trace metal eneLyses ere
censored. Seasonal analysis of the trace metals shows uncensored levels of Al, As, Lu,
Pb, Mo, end Se have been measured only in the spring, levels of Lr, HB, Ni, and Ag are
always censored regardless of the season, and uncensored levels of Be, Cd, end 2n ere
measured in both ceacons.
Annand Drew. Site YSA F4 has been monitored from 5/14/97 through 17/7/93. Four water
types ere exhibited at chic site, MgCaSO4HC03 which is the principal water type,
C aM gSO4HC03, CeHg504, and MgCa504. The first two water types account for 82 percent of
the water analyses measured at Site YSA F4. There is some cation scatter end considerable
anion scatter on the trilinea~ and Schoeller plots. A msjority of the cation scatter is
attributable to percent meq/l ce and Mg veriabi lity end most of the anion scatter results
from HC03 end 504 concentration variability. TDS levels show no overall trend.
The seasonal mean trilinear and Schoeller plots indicate the mean spring, fall, and winter
cation plots ere similar, while the summer cation plot has a greeter percent meq/l Hg end •
smaller percent meq/l Ca value then the other seasons. The mean seasonal anion portion of
the plots show a trend towards higher percentages of HC03 from spring to summer and to
fell. The winter anion data plot dlfte rs significantly from this trend and shows a larger
percent meq/l 504. The mean TDS levels generally show en increase from spring to winter
with the exception that early spring levels may be higher than fete spring Levels.
However, the fall TDS levels are less then the summer levels and the winter levels, though
greater then the felt levels, are less then the summer levels.
The pN levels ere similar in magnitude to those for the monitoring sites previously
discussed; however, they ere ell moderately el kaline (8.1 to 8.5). Excepting Al, Be, Fe,
Mn, and 2n, a majority of the rest of the other ten trace metals analyzed for total
recoverable concentrations are censored. A seasonal evaluation of the trace metals shows
Cr, Ni, end Ag ere all censored regardless of the season. Uncensored values for As, Cd,
Cu, Pb, Hg, Mo, end Se vere measured only in the spring.
Grassy Creek. Site YSFGS is located on Grassy Lreek above the Twen[y-Mile Nighway (see
Exhibit 7-1). This site has been monitored from 4/9/91 through 10/15/93. Two water types
are exhibited et this site, CeHg504HC03 which is the principal water type, end LeHgSO4. _
The principal water type accounts for 84 percent of the water analyses performed et this
108
