• appreciable cation and anion scatter with no ova rail trends. The cation scatter is due to
variability in the percent meq/l levels of Ce, MB, end Na, while the anion scatter is due
to variability in NC03 and 804 percent meq/l levels. TDS shows no overall trend, but
reaches concentration levels in 1993 that ere twice as high es any measured in 1991 and
1992.
The seasonal mean trilinear and Schoeller plats show the cations have a higher pereentege
of Ce in the spring es compered to the summer end fall. The anions show a higher mean
percent S04 in the fall as compared to the spring end summer seasons. TDS appears to
increase in early spring, decrease into late spring, and then increase throughout the
summer and fall. The mean summer TDS concentration is 62 percent higher then the mean
spring level and the mean fell concentration is 45 percent higher then the mean summer
level.
the pN is similar to that at the monitoring sites discussed so far, ranging from slightly
to moderately alkaline conditions. Excepting AL, Be, B, Fe, Mn, and 2n, a majority of the
rest of the other ten trace metal analyses are censored. A seasonal evaluation of the
• other trace metals shows uncensored Cr, Cu, Pb, Ng, Mo, Ni, Se, end Ag levels were
measured only in the spring. Uncensored Al, As, Be, B, Fe, Mn, and Zn levels have been
recorded in ell three seasons end uncensored levels of Cd have been measured in the spring
end summer only.
Site YSSF2 is located below Pond Y-1 on the Y-1 tributary to Sege Lreek (see Exhibit 7-1).
This site has been monitored from 3/11/91 through 9/14/93. Three water types ere
exhibited at Site YSSF2, MgCa504NC03 which is the principal water type, Ng[e504, end
Mg504. The first two water types account for 89 percent of ell the water quality analyses
at this site. The trilinear and Schoeller plots show appreciable cation end anion scatter
with no overall trends. The cation scatter is largely due to Ca end Mg percent meq/l
variability, while the anion scatter is principally due to NC03 and S04 percent meq/l
variability. TOS shows no overall trend.
The seasonal mean trilinear and Schoeller plots show Ce meq/L percentages ere higher in
the spring and lower in the summer, whereas Na end MB meq/L percentages increase in the
summer. On the anion side, the summer water quality has a distinctly higher S04 meq/l
percentage. The mean TDS concentration for the spring is 587 mg/l. The one summer TDS
value is 69 percent greater than the spring mean.
107
