C
Frank. M. Graham, Jr.

June 22, 1988
Please provide estimates of major, moderate, and minor disturbances
as described in Rule 2.12(4)(d) of the Mineral Rules and
Regulations. What acreage will be disturbed at the point of
maximum disturbance?
3. During my inspection, you stated that the pit edges will be mined
to a vertical slope and then subsequently backfilled. Please
describe this aspect of mining in more detail. Specifically, what
material will be used to backfill the pit edges, and what would the
maximum haul distance be? Do the pit walls need to be stabilized
prior to backfilling to prevent sutffing or does backfilling occur
soon enough after mining that this is not a problem?
4. Will there be arty overburden or reject material generated during
operations? If so, where will this be stored?
5. Is the crushing the only type of rock processing proposed?
6. Will gravel stockpiles be placed in the pit floor or in areas where
mining has not occurred?
Please state what minimum setback widths (in feet) will be
maintained between mining and property boundaries, reconstructed
ditches, adjacent residences, Boulder Creek, the Burlington
Northern Railroad right of wady, the gas well, petroleum pipelines,
power lines which transect the site, water, telephone, and power
lines which run along the property boundaries. In accordance with
Rule 1.56(5) of the Mineral Rules and Regulations, you need to
either demonstrate that the mining operation will not adversely
affect these structures or provide evidence of an agreement between
the operator and the structure owners that damage would be
compensated for by the operator. In particular:
A. Rerouted ditches: You have provided a copy of your
agreement wit a ditch rights owners, which states that
C) the water flow will be maintained and monitored. Please
provide evidence that the ditches will be sized correctly
for the anticipated flow quantities. What measures will be
taken to stabilize the ditch slopes from water erosion?
Please describe your plans to monitor the stability of
these ditches.
B. Burlington Northern's Railroad Right of WdY, Amoco's
eum nice ine, an water, to eo one and
roes: Please UesCrlbe your plans to protect these
res during and after mining and monitor the
effectiveness of your plans. Have the owners of these
structures been contacted regarding your specific plans
and, if so, da they have aqy concerns or recommendations?
Do you have an agreement to compensate them for anv damages?
