Eve rist, Inc.
3955 youngfield
Golden, CO. 80401
Dear ?tr. Baker:
The following is my recommendation for reclaiming the Andesite Rock
Company quarry near Lyons, Colorado:
1. Soil material containing oil from areas including roads, work
area, fuel area, etc., that have been oiled should be scraped
off and buried in an area [hat will not =rode or leach.
~. Topsoil from the overburden should be stockpiled and spread
over the entire. area, except the slope directly adjacent to
St. l'rain Creek, to a depth of 6-12 inches. The greater the
depth [lie better the chance of establishing a vegetative cover.
This material should also he packed and level.
3. The slope into St. Vrain Creek should be left as it is at the
present time - riprapped with large rock.
~. The following mix should be seeded:
~cies Variety lbs. P1.5*/Ac.
Sideoats grama Vaughn 3.0
I,i t[le Rlues tem Pastura 2.11
Blue grama Lovi.ngton 1.0
IJestern wheatgrass Arriba 4.0
*PLS = Pure Live Seed = Purity x Germination = l00
5. Drilling [his seed with a good grassland drill that has depth
bands, seedbox agitation and packer wheels is necessary.
Addcnduiu E:thibil T
o
