The remaining Class I <br />Roads will be removed after they are no longer needed. ~i <br />(b} To the extent possible using the best technology currently available, <br />Class I Roads shall not cause damage to fish, wildlife and related <br />environmental values and shall not cause additional contributions of <br />suspended solids to streamflow or to runoff outside the permit area. Any <br />such contributions shall not be irr excess of limitations of State or Federal / <br />law. <br />The following description of Class I Roads demonstrates, to the extent <br />possible, the use of the best technology currently available to avoid damage <br />to fish, wildlife and related environmental values. All existing drainages <br />affected by Class I Roads will be maintained by the use of culverts and <br />ditches designed and placed in accordance with 30 CFR 816.153. Horizontal <br />• and vertical alignment, together with sedimentation ponds and other control <br />mechanisms, will achieve the suspended solids requirments of Section` 816.42. <br />.'C QL e~ <br />(c) P.11 Class I Roads shall be removed and the land ^~(Cregraded and <br />revegetated in accordance with the requirments of 30 CFP, 816.156 unless-- <br />(1) Retention of the road is approved as part of the apprcved postmining <br />land use or as being necessar;~ to control erosion adequately; <br />(2) The necessary maintenance is assured; and <br />(3) All drainage is controlled according to 30 CFR 816.153. <br />At such time as the Class I koads are no longer required for mining <br />operations, they will be removed and the land affected regraded and ngU~ <br />revegetated in accordance with 30 CFR 816.156.
