Section 816.132 (b) Continued.
The entire office, shop, warehouse, and tipple facilities will be
reclaimed at the completion of coal mining. All salvageable equip-
ment and buildings will be sold, dismantled and removed from the
permit area. Any unsalvageable material will be hauled off the
permit area to an approved disposal site elsewhere. Likecaise, all
power lines and power poles will be removed and salvaged after the
conclusion of mining activities. The restoration and reclamation
of mine roads is discussed under Sections 816.156, 816.166, and
816.176. The railroad spur into the Energy Piine No. 1 is completely
owned by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad; therefore, no
reclamation is planned.
The total area encompassed by the surface facilities at the Energy
Piines No. 1 and 2 is approximately 64 acres. A breakdown of the
individual acreage is shoum in Table 110, Area of Surface Facilities.
The surface facilities are located on the Energy Pfines No. 1 and 2
• Existing Structures (Map 34).
Once the structures or buildings are removed, the disturbed areas
of the surface facilities will probably require ripping or scari-
fying to loosen the gravel or compacted bed. Any gravel or other
material, such as asphalt, will be removed and disposed of in a
final pit area or other approved disposal site off the permit area.
The areas will then be graded and recontoured as necessary to
achieve an approximate original contour. Because topsoil was not
removed prior to the construction of the surface facilities, Energy
Fuels will probably not have any great amount of topsoil to be
spread over the reworked surfaces. However, any available or
additional topsoil remaining in stockpiles at the conclusion of
mining will be used to cover the recountered areas. These areas
will then be seeded in accordance with the mixture delineated in
Table 96, Proposed Rangeland Seed Mixture. The revegetation success
of the reclaimed surface facilities area will be monitored simultaneously
with the monitoring of the reclaimed mining areas. As a minimum,
816-168
