Section 816.106 Continued. <br />• excessive erosion at Colorado Yampa Coal Company <br />Section 816.111 Revegetation: General requirements. <br />(a) Each person who conducts surface mining activities shall establishi on <br />all affected land a diverse, effective, and permanent vegetative cover of <br />the same seasonal variety native to the area of disturbed land or species <br />that supports the approved postmining land use. Far areas designated as <br />prime farmlantl, the requirements of 30 CFR 823 shall apply. <br />The principal reason to revegetate strip mined land according to the <br />present regulations is to stabilize the soil surface with respect to <br />erosion.
