This will provide. data important to the defini- <br />tion of adaptational change through time. <br />RESEARCH GOALS <br />These processes of excavation, monitoring, and analysis <br />should accomplish the following goals: 1) the absolute <br />(radiometric) determination of the age of the hearths, 2) the <br />determination of form and function of the hearths, 3) provide <br />a better understanding of the stratigraphy of the site, <br />4) provide some knowledge of inter-site patterning of artifacts, <br />features, and activities, 5) provide data on Lithic technology • <br />and lithic sources, and 6) help define a previously unknown <br />portion of Cody Complex adaptations. Additional data, <br />suc]n as utilized faunal resources, subsistence staategies and <br />technologies, and perhaps evidence of other time periods, may or <br />may not be encountered. <br /> <br /> <br />u <br />
