Gate and BLM The gate, consisting of two posts but no door,
Dump stradles the access road at the turnoff to the Mine. It
is part of a short security fence running east and
west near the southern border of the Brown Derby
#4 claim. A small waste dump is adjacent to the
gate. The gate and dump are not within the permit
boundary, and Applicant does not intend to disturb
them.
6. Ore Chute BLM A dilapidated wooden structure believed to have
been an ore chute constructed by previous operators
lies west of the western edge of the access road
opposite the Brown Derby Mine entrance. It is
outside the pemrit boundary, and Applicant does not
intend [o disturb the chute.
Chute Posts BLM Several chute posts believed to have been left by
previous operators lie north of the affected area, and
west of [he two grates described in Item 3 above. It
is outside the perrrti[ boundary, and Applicant does
not intend to disturb the chute post.
(c) Water Resources
There are no streams, springs, lakes, stock water ponds, ditches, reservoirs or aquifers in [he area
of the proposed operations which will receive drainage directly from [he affected area. The
Brown Derby Mine is dry and is no[ known to generate drainage. As described in Exhibit C -
Mining Plan, Applicant does not anticipate any surface activities such as tailings or settling
ponds that potentially could generate drainage from the affected area. Further, Applicant does
not anticipate creating any ore stockpiles on the surface of the affected areas which would
consist of or generate acid- ortoxic-forming materials. As described in the Mining Plan,
Applicant intends to use water only for drilling purposes on an intermittent basis. Water will be
transported to the Mine in portable water tanks when necessary. Any water used for drilling will
essentially be consumed in the drilling process.
One intermittent stream is shown by the USGS on its 7.5 minute Parlin Quadrangle, which is [he
basis for the Location Map. This stream is shown to begin approximately 200 feet below the
Brown Derby Miue entrance, and is shown to cross the access road at least once. Flow in [his
stream would be to the west, away from the Mine. During Applicant's visits to the Brown Derby
Mine, however, Applicant has not observed water flow in this area, and has not observed any
area of the access road which appears to have been washed by any stream. For the reasons
described in the previous paragraph, Applicant's operations are not expected to impact this
intermittent stream.
Exhibit B - 3
