•

EXHIBIT E - RECLAMATION PLAN
• GENERAL
As shown in Table D (page D-4),five ponds will be created. Surface area
ranges from 3,5 Acres to 40.1 Acres, and total 96.4 Acres. Pond depths
will be between ].1.3 and 14.3 feet deep. The final perimeters will me-
ander to create asthetic and functional shorelines. The sides will be
shaped to a maximum slope of 4:1 above the high waterline to a point ten
(10) feet below the waterline and a maximum slope of 2:1 below the 10
foot water dr=_pth. One side of each pond adjoins the open space strip
along the river. This will allow for integration and interplay of land-
scaping and uses of both areas.
Topsoil will be placed on the remaining ground from the clearing and grubb-
ing of tfre next pit area or from a topsoil stockpile in the plant area.
The re-seeding of tFie completed areas will be done in accordance with the
Soil Conservation Service recommendations which follow in this section.
• In addition to the seeding, cottonwood trees will be placed in the larger
open areas along the perimeters of the ponds. These will be spaced on 50
foot centers (approximately 16 per acre ). Lnw cover will be provided by
Skunk Buslr and current bushes ie. Wild Gooseberry. These will he planted
in clumps of 4 to 6 bushes and placed primarily iri the corners of the pond
areas. These will provide cover and feed for the wildlife.
Ponds 1, 4, and 5 on the North side of the river will make use of the
existing surface flow from tire swale presently existing in Pond 1. This
flow will he picked up at the Northwest Corner of Pond 1 and directed to
flow circuitously through the ponds. .7his will provide fresh water and
feed and circulation through these ponds.
Pond 2 will receive surface runoff from a large area to t:he South,
Ground water fluctuations will affect all the ponds.
u
Revised: 11-4-B3
E - 1
