Top soiling will be delayed until closure of the permitted operation
to allow use of the worked~ut areas for processing and stockpiling of sandstone
gravel materials.
After completion of all gravel pit operations on the site the stockpiled
soil overburden and top soil will be spread evenly over the smoothed surface.
The prepared top soil will then be fertilized, seeded and weed controlled
according to the following recarmendation from U.S.D.A., Soil ~nservation
Service, to provide for sustained dry land grazing range land.
An alternate plan for reclamation that has been discussed is a sanitary
landfill site. If this option is adopted and appropriately permitted by
Colorado Health Department, Mined Iand Reclamation Eoard and other authorities,
the re-soiling, top-soiling and revegetation would be delayed until the
excavated pit is backfilled with refuse.
