6.
and final drawdown for each step was 5, 9.4 and 38 gpm and 0.04,
0.07 and 0.46 feet, respectively. Test drrata are presented in
Appendix A. ~~~ 1T ~I'lS~4s ;ri.,r5¢,ylr`~ ~ lox
Monitor well W-16 ocated 40 feet from the pumped well (W-15) 'T "
showed no drawdown during the test. Field analysis of the step
w G drawdown test data indicated that the pump supplied was not
~~,capable of discharging enough water to significantly stress the
S "Jc~QSPs alluvial aquifer. After discussions with CRCC and the CMLRD, it
p was determined that the step drawdown test was sufficient to
~""~`P~{ enable the estimation of the aquifer transmissivity within an
~vo~/i- order of magnitude. Interpretation of the step test and a
~c~c~~~~ listing of the test data is presented in section 4.1 and
S (~ Appendix A, respectively.
~~ 3.3 CONSTA~FT. DISCHARGE TEST AT WELL W-9
M~LR1 d~lv~3l~1f~
Two wells, pumped well W-9 and observation well W-10, are
~'~" ~ located along the Barren Ridge and are completed into the coal
~~ '` bearing Fruitland Formation. These wells were used to evaluate
s~„rs W ~ bedrock aquifer characteristics. A submersible pump capable of
psfs producing 10 gpm was placed in well W-9 on September 7, 1982.
5 ~~
~~~Ygas A step drawdown test was not necessary because previous pump
r~~ -S test data was available, and indicated that the well would pro-
t^' ~ F
b a ~~ ~ duce 4 gpm for a period exceeding 24 hours. .
r
A 24 hour constant drawdown and recovery test was initiated at
0745 hours on September 8, 1982. A discharge of approximately
4 gpm was maintained throughout the test. Interpretation of the
test, test data summary, and evaluation'of the pumping data are -
presented in section 4.2, Appendix B, and Appendix C, respec-
tively.
