However, velocities for the <br />second layer are too low to indicate an expansive coropete~ sandstone layer. As indicated by the scatter <br />of emerged rays in the seismic data, it is probable the second layer is composed of bedrock horizons that <br />vary from competent sandstone at the center of the profile to highly weathered sandstone and shale <br />bedrock proceeding up the steep Banking slopes. <br />Frgure I3.
