Seismic refraction resuhs reveal a second layer of higher velocity material which is shallow (-7 ft) on the
steep southwest slope and deeper (-17 ft) on the northeast slope (Figure 12). The velocity of the first
layer is typical of unconsolidated sedimems. Velocities for the second layer indigte tightly consolidated
sediments or a highly weathered bedrock, possibly shale.

Seismic refraction results reveal a second layer of higher velocity material which occurs nearly parallel to
the surface at an average depth of 19 feet (Figure 11). The velocity ofthe first layer is typical of
unconsolidated sedime~s. Velocities of the second layer indipte a probable a compde~ unit of
weathered bedrock, possibly sandstone.
