2.05.6 MITIGATION OF THE IMPACTS OF MINING OPERATIONS <br />• <br />2.05.6 (1) AIR POLLUTIDN CONTROL PLAN <br />the current air emissions permit for the mine is included in this <br />section. <br />7"he air emissions pQrmits for tho loadouts are given in 2.06.10 <br />Loadouts. <br />The measures to be taken under the air emissions permitzare satisfactory to <br />comply with the Clean Air Act. These measures include the following: <br />1. Haul roads shall be covered with compacted. red dog and watered up to 30 <br />times per day on days of peak loading. <br />2. Vehicle speeds at mine site shell be posted and not exceed 20 miles per <br />hour. <br />3. Surface belts shall be covered. <br />4. Coal shall be sprayed with water as it is mined. <br />• 5. Storage piles shall be watered to maintain a 2 percent surface moisture <br />content. <br />6. Trucks shall be loaded in enclosed structures and loads shall not exceed <br />25 tons per truck. <br />7. Surface moisture content of tailings piles shall be maintained at 6%. <br />8. Vehicle speeds around tailings area shall not exceed 10 miles per hour. <br />Speed limits shall be posted. <br />9. Traffic shall be restricted to established roads where possible. <br />10. Disturbed areas shall be minimized and revegetated in accordance to dust <br />control plan submitted to the Division. <br />11. Fugitive particulate emissions during rail car loading shall be minimized <br />by utilization of enclosed conveying system and metal semi-tube on <br />belt discharge into railcar. <br />12. Traffic shall be restricted to established roads. Vehicle speeds on <br />unpaved roads and disturbed areas shall not exceed a maximum of 20 <br />miles per hour. Speed limit signs shall be posted. <br />13. Haul roads shall have installed compacted red dog carpet and watered up <br />to 15 times a day during peak loading of 5000 tons/day but not less <br />. than 3 times daily. <br />14. Fugitive particulate emissions during loading and transit shall be <br />minimized by limiting load size to 25 tons and covering the load. <br />15. Mud and dirt carryout onto paved surfaces shall"be prevented by <br />installation of a compacted red dog unpaved surface. <br />537 <br />
