During
reclamation mine equipment will be temporarily stored in disturbed areas of the mine sire until
it can be removed by truck. The equipment will be located such that it is easily accessible for
loading and rcntoval from the site. The temporary storage of the tninc equipment should not
in any way impact surface waters. All debris generated from reclamation will be removed from
the site and hauled to the local landfill. No debris will be permanently stored within the permit
houndary.
Acid•Formine and Toxie•Formine Materials
No toxic or acid-forming materials were exavated during the first 5-year permit tertn. Roof,
floor and partings samples of the 5tarkvillc seams from Coreholes A-1 and A-2 were analyzed
by C'1'E Laboratories in May of 1982. These samples arc representative of the material
excavated for the Animas portals. Samples were analyzed for both toxic elements and leachable
constitucnes. The result.s of the analyses are presented in Settions 2.04.6 (2L(1V) C & D. The
saatc material will be used to backfill the Animas portals.
T'he overburden to be used for covering the exposed refuse during reclamation will be obtained
from the area between the clean mal stockpile and the Helen portal area. Most of this material
• is also roof and floor material rom the Starkville seams that was spoiled when the Helen
ltighwall was created prior to the previous operation by Sundance Coal Company.
~ ~~ ~q
mnvu ~,n~m 527R Revised -July 1994
