PERMANENT STOPPINGS (Cont.) <br />• blocks are covered with an approved sealant. Drawings of the <br />stoppings accompany this plan, Canvas or plastic type brattice <br />may only be used in rooms with a length of 600 feet or less. <br />4, Approved non-construction sealants used in the mine are: <br />a) Versi-foam System 15 by Universal Foam or Versi-foam Bulk <br />and Rigi-Pak 180 Urethane Foam Pack by MSA or Mobile Ure- <br />thane Un7tS by MSA with the following safety precautions. <br />1. The foams must meet the flame spread index of 25 as deter- <br />mined by ASTM test E-84 or E-162. <br />Z. All manufacturer guidelines for safe handling and applica- <br />tion must be followed. <br />3. All persons involved with the application of the foams <br />shall be thoroughly trained in the mechanics of applica- <br />tion and the fire and toxicity hazards associated with the <br />foam product. <br />4, All persons involved in direct application shall wear a <br />• self-contained breathing apparatus or supplied fresh air <br />apparatus, chemically resistant gloves, goggles or safety <br />glasses with side shields, and clothing which reduces <br />chances of skin contact, <br />5. Potable water for skin and eye wash shall be available at <br />the application site, <br />6. Fire protection should be provided in accordance with 30 <br />CFR, Section 75 1100-2, and in outby areas two portable <br />fire extinguishers and 240 pounds of rock dust shall be <br />supplied. In areas away from available fire control de- <br />vices, two portable fire extinguishers shall be supplied, <br />7.
