Section D.3.4 Facility Construction
Section D.3.4.1 General
16. Please specify the methods and disposal locations of vegetation removal
planned for the various facility locations.
17. Please specify the depth of topsoil removal proposed for the various
facility locations.
Section D.3.4.2 Waste Rock Disposal Area Construction Sequence
18. Section D.3.2.1, Site Description of the Northern Waste Rock Disposal
Sites, specified that approximately 2 million tons, or approximately 1.3
million cubic yards, of waste rock is proposed for disposal in the east pit.
With an estimated areal extent of approximately 20 acres, the east pit would
be filled with the planned waste rock disposal volumes to an approximate depth
of 42 feet. Upon reviewing Map J-1 and Figure C-2, it appears that the east
pit will approach depths of up to 200 feet. Please explain why more waste
rock form the west pit is not planned for disposal in the east pit.
Section D.5.1 Description of the Milling Process
Section D.5 Mill Facilities
19. Please specify mill facility design specifications regarding the
containment and or recovery of spilled or overflowed milling reagents, both in
the reagent storage area as well as the flotation, recirculation, and
processing areas, i.e. flooring materials, sump locations, material and height
of knee walls, etc.
20. Pregnant solutions from the leach pad pumped to the mill for processing
will require transmittal through a system that provides secondary
containment tions in the event of pipe failure, leaks, or damage.
Please commit to such.
21. What percentage of the tailing will be processed in the carbon-in-leach
circuit?
22. Will the flotation system also use cyanide as part of its processing
prior to disposal as tailing?
23. What is the textural analysis of the material processed through the
carbon-in-leach circuit?
24. The concentrates from the carbon-in-leach circuit should be rinsed to
reduce the level of free cyanide to .005 ppm as the Rito Seco is inhabited by
trout and the receiving stream standard for free cyanide is .005 ppm.
