Mr. Jim Points
July 7, 1982
Page -3-
Exhibit.F - Reclamation Plan Map
The map should bE revised to show the post-mining conditions including
approximate contours of graded areas, drainage diversions, etc.
Exhibit L - Reclamation Plan
It is difficult to evaluate your reclamation cost exhibit because, in
light of the questions and comments above, there are additional tasks
to be performed, and not all areas within the permitted boundary will
require equal degrees of reclamation. For example, there will be a
substantial cost for grading, shaping the tailings pond. Also, perhaps
not all, but some of the buildings will require removal (eg. the bond
on Standard P1eta1's Mayflower t4i11 is $100,000). For those areas requiring
reclamation, please revise this exhibit accordingly. Although this is
not intended to be a ruler for reclamation costs (because we look at
these sites on a case-by-case basis), Standard Pietals calcualted their
own reclamation costs, exclusive of the mill, to be near $2,500 per acre.
Other
I apologize for the length of time it has taken for this review and
suggest you call me prior to submitting your responses in order that
we may work out any details.
This item will be on the agenda of the July 21-22, 1982 Plined Land Reclamation
Board meeting. Please try to submit your reponses by July 19, 1982. Thank you.
Sincerely,
°~~~ ~~~
Mike Stanton
Reclamation Specialist
MS:ys
