I appreciate your consideration in
granting the extension to Summit for the reasons we discussed. 1 will respond in the same
order as you presented in your comments.
Exhibits A, B and C are adequate.
Exhibit D -Mining Plan.
(a) We are in the process of developing the maps you requested, fora more detailed
description of the mining methods that will be employed. They will be supplied to you in
the extension period.
(c) Since the surface is mainly rock, the chances for creating excessive erosion and
sedimentation to occur aze minor. However, any structures to prevent erosion will not be
major. If necessary, small uplWnd diversions tc divert sw-face n:noffav:ay from the disturbed
areas will be installed during mining, as needed. However, since a pit will be created in
mining, surface runoff will be trapped there. In other operations, the trapped erosion
sedimentation has been composed of fine clay, which is valuable to the operator.
(f) Stockpiles of the little topsoil that is present that will be used during reclamation are being
located on the map.
