Twentymile Coal Compan}' (TCC) has obtained
a lease for coal From five proposed drill sites PDH9901, 002, 003, 004 and 005.
Two proposed sites, PDH9901 and PDH9902, are located in the NW 1/4 of Sec Z5, TSN, R861Y/. tp`
Surface and coal rights for both sites are owned by P. Swisher. TCC has obtained a lease for the coal I~ •\~t
and has an access agreement. TCC has already obtained a surface use agreement from P. Swisher for ~ ~~' ~t ~
this exploration work. A copy of the agreement will be forwarded to the Division. ~ ~~
Drill sites PDH9901 and PDH9902 can only be accessed from RCR 29 through a ranch road located M
in the S 1/2 of Sec 24 on surface controlled b}' TCC. TCC obtained a surface use agreement from the ~ l (~
BLM for a right of entry into the NE 1/4 of Section 26. Sites PDH9903, PDH9904, and PDH990G are located near ranch
roads or immediately off of existing fence line trails. klain access can be gained from RCR 27 at the
Cross Mountain gate or from the south off of RCR 33 by taking the 10 Right mute road to a culvert ~ .•
crossing on Fish Creek located in Sec 1G. An access agreement will be obtained from Cross Mountain u ' '~
Ranch Ltd. Partnership by TCC. r'`
~'~.
All core hole sites and all land within 50 ft of either side of all proposed seismic centerlines have also
been recommended for cultural resource clearance by a team of archeologists. A copy of the report
prepared by Metcalf Archeological Consultants, Inc., is included with this package.
4.0 Description of Land to be Affected
The proposed exploration drill sites are all located in Township 5 North, Range 86 \\/est, Sections 1Q,
I1 and 25. PDH9901-002 are proposed widen the Middle Creek drainage. Proposed sites PDH9903-
005 and the seismic line are tit the Fish Creek drainage. Elevation ranges- from about 6500-9000 feet
within the proposed exploration area.
The proposed sites can be separated into a riparian habitat type and an upland habitat site. A report
from the Division of \~/i1dliFe describing ways to minimize negative impact to wildlife is included with
tlus package.
Vegetation in the upland regions consist of gambol oak brush, serviceberry, chokecherry and sage
brash.
