Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
0

October 18, 1983
Pounds Pure Live
Seed Per Acre
6.5
19.0
2.5
2~
After reviewing your response to the Division's question, it is
unclear what the operator's intention will be regarding
topsoil. Will the operator topsoil all of the areas to a depth
of 4 to 5 inches or will the operator topsoil the 4h:ly slopes
to 9 inches and use the soil/overburden material on the pit
floor?
~~
'~ If the operator proposes to use the soil/overburden material, t
~~ what depth will this material be spread on the site?. Also,
~~ ~ please provide a copy of the sails analysis of this
~~ soils/overburden material that you mentioned you had at our
meeting of October 11, 1983.
2. The Division is uncertain as to what seed mixture(s) will be
used on this site when reclamation occurs. The Division aptly
stated in the September 29, 1983 correspondence the reason for
going with a different seed mixture. The Division recommends
using this seed mixture if all of the areas are to topsoiled.
Is this agreeable by the operator? If not, the operator must
propose a different seed mixture.
If the operator proposes to not topsoil all of the areas, the
Division recommends the following two seed mixtures. These seed
mixtures are basically the ones proposed on page 21 but
eliminates winter wheat because of the Division's experience
with winter wheat out-competing the desired seed mixture species
resulting in a poor vegetation stand. Also, the rates in both
seed mixtures have been changed by reducing the rate of slender
wheatgrass and increasing the rate of sideoats grama in the
first seed mixture whereas white sweetclover Yias been
eliminated, yellow sweetclover has been reduced and little
bluestem and tall fescue have been increased in the second
mixture.
Seed Mixture for Topsoiled Areas
S ep ties
Intermediate wheatgrass
Pubescent wheatgrass
Slender wheatgrass
sideoats grama
Little bluestem
Pounds Pure Live Seed Per Acre
Drill Broadcast
4.6 9.2
3.8 7.6
2.2 4.4
2.4 4.8
1.2 2.4
14.2 28.4
