We then stoped up, using the shrink-
stope method until we reached level above the area that had been
worked out in previous years. At the present time we are driving
drift to the north and back stoping. The clay is hauled out of
the mine on a muck train and stockpiled on the east side of the
portal until it is loaded into trucks with a front end loader and
hauled to the Brick Plants in Denver.
The Lariat open pit clay mine is in the Benton Formation.
The overburden is three (3) to four (4) feet in depth. We started
the open pit near the portal of the underground mine and are
mining with an HD-11 Cat from north to south. This operation will
end at the Hogback Ridge, going both directions. The clay is stock-
piled east of the portal until it is hauled to the Brick Plants in
Denver. We are using the overburden as fill as we advance with
the pit to a 1:1 grade.
The highwalls are up against the hogback, running north and
south and will be shot down with dynamite and sloped and graded
to conform with the adjacent land.
EXHIBIT C - Map
See attached.
- 1 -
