I have several questions and comments that I have
organized on an exhibit-by-exhibit basis below. Any exhibit or part thereof
not mentioned is considered adequate for Board approval now. Please respond
to this letter at your earliest convenience (but certainly by no later than
May 21, 1984) such that our staff can review your response and comment, if
necessary. In this way, the application will be ready for Board approval
during the scheduled May 23-24, 1984 meeting. If these questions can be
answered adequately, this matter should be able to be considered as a "no
problem", written matter before the Board, and you will not need to be present
at the Board meeting.
Before the Board can consider the application, we must receive proof of
publication (publisher's affidavit or copy of the first publication) and proof
of notification to the landowner of the permit area and all immediately
rl6F adjacent landowners (certified mail white or green receipts or copies
pl( thereof). Please send these items as soon as they are available.
~L~?
Application Item 15 - Proposed Future Use
Please state an actual future land use for the permit area, once it has been
reclaimed. From an examination of the permit materials, it would seem that
the use is "rangeland" or "grazing". Please clarify this matter.
Exhibit B
J 1. What is the proposed life of the mining operation?
f 2. Topsoil stockpiles should be planted with a perennial grass cover crop
{' for purposes of stabilization. Please indicate the species and seeding
as rate that will be used for this purpose. The local office of the
~ Soil Conservation Service can be of help in this regard.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel. (30'x) 866-3567
