<br />EXi1181T D <br />TYPE OF VEGETATION COVERING AFFECTED LANDS: <br /> <br />The predominant tree species subject to removal from the affected <br />lands are Pinion (Pinus Edulis), along with the following shrubby <br />species: <br />(1) Rubber rabbitbrusli (Lhrysothamnus Nauseosus) <br />(7) Douglas rabbitbrush (C. Viscidiflorus) and <br />(3) Skunkbush Sumac (Rlius Trilobata). <br />Major grases are Indian Ricegrass (Oryzopsis Hymenoides), Downy <br />6rome (Broinus Tectorum), Needle and Thread Grass (Stipa Coniata), <br />New Mexican Feathergrass (Stipa Neomexicana), Sleepy Grass (Stipa <br />Robusta), Red Threeawn (Aristida Longiseta), Squirreltail (Sitanion <br />Hystrix) and Blue Grama (Bouteloua Gracilis). <br />INFORh1ATI0N OBTAINED FROM THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE. <br />SOIL TYPE COVERING AFFECTED LANDS: <br />h1P - Idussell-6rownsto complex, 2 - 13% slopes. <br />These are deep, well and somewhat excessively drained soils on foot <br />slopes and fans. Mussel has a deep loam to sandy loam profile while <br />Brownsto is very gravelly and sandy. These soils are calcareous <br />throughout. PH range is 7.8 to 8.4 for both soils. Mussel tends to <br />occur under grass vegetation. The very gravelly Brownsto occurs under <br />rather dense stands of Pinion pine. Most fanned areas are Mussel <br />sandyloam, which is easily worked and has moderate water holding capa- <br />city. Brownsto is droughty and usually too gravelly to cultivate. <br />itIFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE. <br />WILDLIFE INFORMATION: <br />The following information concerning wildlife in the area has been <br />developed in conjunction with the local wildlife office, W. Travnicek, <br />Salida, Colorado. <br />A.
