• <br />(i) Nature, depth, and thickness of the coal seams to be <br />mined, any coal or rider seams above the seam(s) to be mined, each stratum <br />of the overburden, and the stratum immediately below the lowest coal seam <br />to be mined; <br />(ii) A geologic map with geologic cross sections of the <br />proposed permit area, including coal crop lines and the strike and dip of <br />the coal to be mined; <br />(iii) The geoloqy for those surface lands within the permit <br />area which are underlain by the coal seam to be extracted and the geoloqy <br />of the coal seam itself including: <br />(A) The depth, classification and geoloqic structure <br />of the overlying strata; <br />(B) The location of subsurface water, if encountered; <br />• <br />and <br />(C) Analysis of the coal seam including, but not <br />limited to, the pyrite, marcasite and sulphur content. <br />(iv) The geology of the strata down to and including the <br />stratum immediately below anv coal seam to be mined shall be described for <br />those areas to be affected by surface operations or facilities only in <br />those cases where the strata will be removed down to the level of the coal <br />seam to be mined, including the following data resulting from an analysis <br />of test borings, core samples or outcrop samples: <br />(A) The location of the subsurface water, if <br />encountered, and the location of where subsurface water will be exposed at <br />the face-up area; <br />The loos of drill holes showing the lithologic <br />characteristics of the strata to be affected; <br />(C) The physical properties of the strata immediately <br />above and below the coal seam affected, including texture, and other <br />. information sufficient to determine compactibility and clay content: <br />2.04-16 <br />
