December 1, 1993
Leonard Walgren
Southeast Colorado Power Association
P.O. Box 521
LaJunta, CO 51050
RE: Midwestern Farms Resource
Dear Mr. Walgren:
As you requested, I have attached a copy of our mining and reclamation
permit application to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology and
a copy of our Prowers County approval statement. These documents include
the environmental impact assessment necessary to obtain a permit from
both the State of Colorado and Prowers County.
Also with this letter you will find a print of our mining plan where I
have highlighted your power line which is located through the middle of
our property. This power line feeds the irrigation wells used in the
farming operation. As the mining progress, we will need to relocate this
power line. The relocation will be done in phases as the mining
progresses. When mining is completed in each phase, a portion of land
will be returned to agriculture so we will need to re-establish the wells
and supply power to them.
The Division of Minerals and Geology requires us to obtain a letter from
you allowing us to relocate these power lines. Enclosed is a sample
letter which we would like you to type on your letterhead and mail. Feel
free to make any revisions and additions to the letter you need. Please
send this letter back to us by December 9, 1993, as we are expecting
approval from the Division on December 13.
Please call me if you have any questions about this.
Cordially,
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, INC.
Gary Tuttle
GJT/s7r
Enc.
Cc: File #93-171CH
George Tempel, Midwestern Farms
~::\931"!1 \val gren.ltr
