• 2.6 VEGETATION SPECIES COMPOSITION <br />All vegetative species encountered on plots or [ransects during <br />sampling and all vegetative species observed during sampling were noted. <br />Pursuant to agreements made during the consultation between Perms and <br />CHLRD, the vegetation species list for Archuleta County from the Plant <br />Identification Network (Colorado State University and Western Energy and <br />Land Use Team, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) vas obtained and reviewed. <br />Information on the potential occurrence of threatened, endangered, rare or <br />other special concern plant species vas obtained from the Nature <br />Conservancy, Colorado Field Office (Scott Peterson, Plant Taxonomist, per- <br />sonal communication, July 1983). A vegetation species list, including spe- <br />cies reported during pr.evioua studies on the pinyon-juniper type at Chimney <br />Rock Hine, is presented in Appendix B. <br />2.7 PHOTOGRAPHS <br />Photographs of the pinyon-juniper affected and reference areas were <br />• taken to provide visual documentation of characteristics. Photographs were <br />taken with a 35 mm camera, 50 mm lens, and Kodacolor 400 ASA print film. <br />2.8 DA?A ANALYSIS AND SUMMARY <br />Data were analyzed and summarized in tabular format. All data analy- <br />sis methods and formulae were standard procedures from scientifit litera- <br />ture and agency guidelines (Pielou 1966, Snedecor and Cochran 1967, Cottham <br />and Curtis 1956, Smith 1974, Larson 1980, Utah Division of 011, Cas and <br />Mining, 1982 and Wyoming Department of Environmental Qualicy, 1982). <br /> <br /> <br />
