Box 1380- _ _
Clifton, CO 81520-1380
Re: Proposed Upland Gravel Pit #3
T.tS., R.IE., section 35,E
Deaz Mr. Rinderle:
This office has reviewed your mining and reclamation plan for the proposed Upland
Gravel Pit #3. The plan was included as part of your mine permit application package
submitted to the Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG). In order to make the plan
adequate and complete to meet BLM requirements, the following additional information
must be submitted:
1. The area circled on the mine plan map and identified as crusher and stockpile area is
about 1.4 acres. However, the narrative indicates a 3-acre area for processing. How
much azea is needed? ]s the circled area adequate?
2. Explain how the crasher and stockpile area (circled on map) will be constructed.
Since a portion of it is located on the steep slope, include acut-and-fill diagram showing
how the area will look.
3. Provide a design for the haul road, including construction, grade, width, surfacing,
drainage control, etc.
4. The 1,325,000 cubic yards of material to be removed includes overburden. The mine
plan should specify both yards and tons of gravel material to be mined (nbt.including
overburden) and also tons of usable products generated, based on reject rate.
5. Provide a description of the crusher operation and gravel products (stockpile size and
product type), and the projected reject rate. Indicate frequency and duration of
mininglcrushingcydes.
