Section 816.1501b1 Continued. <br />Kerr's responses in Sections 816.151.816.154 demonstrate, to the extent possible, <br />the use of the best technology currently available to avoid damage fish, wildlife and <br />related environmental values. All existing drainages affected by Class I Roads will be <br />maintained by the use of culverts and ditches designed and placed in accordance with <br />30 CFR 816.153. <br />(cl All Class I Roads shall be removed and the land affected regraded and revegetated <br />in accordance with [he requirements of 30 CFR 816.156 unless: <br />11) Retention of the road is approved as part of the approved postmining land <br />useage or as being necessary to control erosion adequately; <br />i2) The necessary maintenance is assured; and <br />(31 All drainage is controlled according to 30 CFR 816.153. <br />At such time as the Class I Roads are no longer required for mining or reclamation <br />operations, they will be removed and the associated disturbance areas regraded and <br />revegetated in accordance with 30 CFR 816.156 unless theta is a continuing beneficial <br />use for the roadlsl. Kerr has modified the mine entrance road (formerly Haul Road A) <br />and obtained DMG approval (MR-251 to retain it as a permanent light-use road to <br />provide access to the mine area in conjunction with the proposed postmining land use. <br />Similarly, Kerr proposes to retain the existing loadout access road as a permanent <br />light-use road to provide access in support of the postmining land use. <br />TR-19 816-177 Revised 11198 <br />
