1
1
EXHIEIT C -MINING FLAN
Mining is intended to commence late this summer or early fall and
is expected to last lU years.
' Growth medium will be stripped at a 6 inch depth, stockpiled, and
redistributed at a 6 inch depth during reclamation. Growth medium that
is stockpiled for more than one growing season will be sloped ~(H):I(V)
and seeded with a fast growing vegetative cover to minimize wind and
water erosion. Growth medium stockpiles will be free from distubance by
ongoing operations - the locations are shown on the mining plan map.
' There will be no overburden stockpiles. The area to be mined is
viirtually a sand deposit. All materials excavated will be transported
' from the site (excluding growth medium).
The sand deposit is appro::imately 25 feet deep. MIning is not
t expected to e>:ceed this depth.
A maximum of 70.UUU tons/year of sand will be mined from this
open-pit sand operation. Earthmoving will be conducted using 25-ton
' trucks, end-loaders, belly-dumps, and graders.
The permit area is generally a hillside, about 25 feet high. The
' hill will be mined, graded, and contoured to merge with the surrounding
land area and elevation. Please refer to the mining and reclamation
plan maps.
' No more than 3 acres are expected to 6e disturbed at any one time.
This will include mining, loading, and hauling. As mining progresses,
disturbed areas will be reclaimed so that the three acre area will not
' be exceeded.
This will be a dry mining operation. Groundwater is not expected
' to be encountered. The only water requirement for operations is for
haul road dust Suppression. Water will be trucked to the site.
There will be no materials processing on-site. Following removal
' of the sand, it will be transported from the site.
The existing acces road and its dimensions are shown oon the mining
' plan map. This road will adequately serve operations - road
improvements are unnecessary.

1
