15. What is the name of the county road that accesses the permit area? Name the road on your
plan map, and if it is within 200 feet of the proposed affected land list it as such in the
appropriate exhibit, and describe how it will be protected from damage by the mining
operation. Is this road the same existing road you mention that will be upgraded to two-way
traffic from the property boundary to the processing plant?
16. Please provide the same information for the culvert road crossing of Tallahassee Creek for
the Sandstone Quarry as was requested for item 3 above. If this structure is in the creek
channel and requires Army Corps of Engineers approval, provide the Division a copy of the
plans and specifications, as provided to the Army Corps.
l7. Please provide the Division a copy of your approved Stormwater Management Plan required
as part of your Stormwater Discharge Permit.
l8. You have stated that "portions of the constructed roads will be maintained and left in place
following mining to provide access within the ranch." Provide detailed information
regarding what road portions will remain and what portions will be reclaimed upon the
completion of mining.
l9. Please provide plans for construction of the rail lines. Of particular interest to the Division
is the source and type of material required for construction grade fills and typical cross
sections of the fills. Please also provide information regarding any cuts that are necessary
for construction of the rail lines dimensions, slopes, etc.
20. Your plan states that "process water will be pumped from a well to be located in the process
plant area." Do you have a permit from the Division of Water Resources for this well? You
will need to demonstrate to the Division that you have a legal right to adequate water
resources for your proposal mining operation.
21. Please show on the Mining Plan Map, the location of the temporary diversions and level
spreaders mentioned in your section 1(e), and provide plans and specifications for these
features. In this section you also mention the use of sediment basins and check dams as
temporary stormwater stabilization practices. If these features are different from those
mentioned in your sections 1.2 Granite Quarry and l.3 Sandstone Quarry, please show them
on the Mining Plan Map and provide plans and specifications for them. You can provide the
plans and specifications by providing a typical plan and set of specifications for these types
of structures, if they will all be similar in size and construction.
22. Your list of permanent stabilization practices includes "possibly construction of permanent
check dams." You must decide whether these dams will be a permanent part of site
reclamation to pasture land. Regardless you must locate them on your Mining Plan Map and
provide at least typical plans and specifications for them. [f they are to remain after mining,
show them on your reclamation plan map.
23. What is the depth to ground water in the area of the gravel pits?
