2006 Ted Franciscotti <br />Gravel Pit #1 <br />Section III <br />Ecological Site Inforu~tion <br />The plain community of the gravel pit area is a mix of grasses and forts primarily with <br />some shrub species. Crrasses accoum for 85-90% of the plant community while shrubs <br />and forts make up the balance. The grasses presern on this site include blue grams, <br />western wheatgrass, sideoats grams, little bluestem, galleta and needlo-and-thread. <br />Forts and shrub community occurring are: winter fat, snakeweed, Indian paintbrush, <br />prairie clover, .and other assorted forts can be present. <br />
