The USDA Soil Conversation Service species seed mix, planting methods and time of planting recommendations will be followed (USDA recommendations attached) This recommendation was provided by Mr. Tony Arnold, District Conservationist for ffuerfano County and is attached to this Exhibit Planting methods and recommendations contained in the attached USDA Soil Conservation Service document, Technical Guide Section IV -Standards and Specifications. Critical Area Planting - (342), will be followed. After replacement of topsoil on areas scheduled for reclamation, seedbeds will be prepared using a disc type plow or spring rake harrow. Seedbeds will be firm and clean tilled. Intensive tillage of " 3 times" will be followed. The seeding operation shall be by drill method. Recommended fertilizer application of 40# Nitrogen and 30# phosphate per acre; certified straw mulch to be applied at a rate of 2000#/acre; weed control wilt be as necessary. Application of fertilizer and mulch will be after seed application. Recommended seedbed preparation date is for dormant seeding from October I S to May 1. Early October, just prior to the first hard freeze is recommended as the most appropriate time for dormant seeding. Seeding of stockpiled topsoil for stabilization will be broadcast and raked by hand using the same recommended seed mix as above.
