`~ will involve cutting and filling approximately 70,000 cy of material. An
as built contour map will be submitted to the Division at the time of a bond
reduction request (1"=50, 10'C.I.).
The sediment and detention ponds, P-1 through P-9 and the refuse pond, at
the mine site will remain in place during the initial phase of final
reclamation. Drainage from the regraded areas will be diverted into the
three sediment ponds to the maximum extent possible. The collection ditches
remaining or being extended for the initial phase of reclamation are shown
on Drawings D-4-15 and D-14-16. Small area exemptions are being requested
for the No. 1 Mine portal area and the new fan site for the No. 1 Mine.
(These areas are shaded on Drawings D-4-15 and D-4-16). Straw dikes will
be installed along the base of these regraded areas until seeding and mulching
• can be dons. The straw mulch in these small area exemptions will be stabilized
by crimping or netting.
As part of final reclamation, permanent diversion structures will be installed
along the contours shown on Drawing D-4-11. These diversions channels drain
runoff from the reclaimed refuse embankment. Drainage from the area above
the refuse embankment will continue to flow along the County road, diverted
permanently away from the head of the disposal site.
4-49a (New 8-14-87)
