Listed below are adequacy review comments for the proposed BLM West Gravel Pit, Permit Application No. M-2006-
060. The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) is required to make an approval or denial decision no
later than October 30, 2006, therefore, your response to the following adequacy review concerns should be submitted to
the Division as soon as possible.
Rule 6.2,1(2)(6) -Maps and Exhibits
1. Tn accordance with this rule, maps, with the exception of the index map, must be prepared and signed by a registered
]and surveyor, professional engineer, or other qualified person. Please resubmit signed copies of Exhibit C, Pre-
Mining and Mining Maps, and Exhibit F, Reclamation Map.
Rule 6.4.3 Exhibit C -Pre-Mining and Minine Plan Map(s) of Affected Lands
2. In accordance with Rule 6.4.3(6), please modify Exhibit C, Mining Map, to show the locations of JCR 5 and the
power transmission line that runs parallel with the southeast permit boundary. In addition, the topographic lines on
this map do not appear to match the lines shown on the Pre-Mining Map. Please verify and correct, if necessary, the
topographic lines on the Mining Map.
3. In accordance with Rule 6.4.3(e), please modify Exhibit C, Pre-Mining Map, to show the type of vegetation currently
covering the affected area.
4. In accordance with Rule 6.4.3(1), please identify on the Pre-Mining and Mining Maps, the owner of the power
transmission line that runs parallel with the southeast permit boundary.
Rule 6.4.4 Exhibit D -Mining Plan
5. In the Mining Plan, the applicant states that the topsoil stockpiles will be stabilized with "suitable vegetation". Please
specify the seed mix that will be utilized to stabilize the topsoil stockpiles.
